Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 c. chocolate chips, plus more for garnish
  • 1/2 c. heavy cream
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup chocolate milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp. cocoa powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 loaf french bread, sliced 1 " thick
  • 2 tbsp. unsalted butter, divided
  • Whipped cream, for topping

Instructions:

  • Heat heavy whipping cream in a small saucepan over medium low heat for about 5 minutes, or until it starts to bubble. In a bowl, mix together heated cream and chocolate chips. Allow to sit for about 5 minutes before whisking until smooth. Let cool slightly and pour it into a ziploc bag. Whisk together, chocolate milk, vanilla, cocoa powder, and salt in a shallow baking dish and set aside. In bottom of each slice of bread, slice a deep pocket about 2 inches wide. Use about half of the ganache to fill alll of the pockets. For 1 minute on each side, soak the bread slices in the chocolate milk mixture. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Cook bread slices for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden. Dollop with cool whip, use the remaining ganache to drizzle the bread, and top with chocolate chips.
