Homemade Pumpkin Spice Mix

pumpkin pie spice 2 With fall is in full swing, I couldn’t help but notice every dessert I wanted to try to make required pumpkin spice. The problem is, that’s not a spice blend I usually have on hand. So thankfully I was able to find a recipe for homemade pumpkin spice mix in my grandmother’s old cookbook that she gave to me a few years ago. It is always nice when I get to use her cookbook because it feels like we are cooking together even when she is not here.

Spices

The ingredients are simple, the effort is minimal, and the flavor is phenomenal! So I made a medium sized jar full of homemade pumpkin spice mix for all of my fall baking. I plan to maybe add some to my next batch of granola for an interesting fall like flavor. Or maybe even to be added to a batch of ice-cream to be enjoyed on those occasional warm fall days. Though I mainly needed this homemade pumpkin spice mix for some amazing pumpkin spice french toast that I pinned months ago and homemade pumpkin spice lattes!
